Job description
We currently have a full-time position available for an apprentice Trailer Mechanic at our Truro location.
We’re looking for an apprentice or junior mechanic responsible for the repair and maintenance of large commercial trailers. This job requires physical strength, including heavy lifting, frequent bending, and working in tight spaces.
Responsibilities and requirements:
- Repairing and replacing parts of trailers including mechanical, brakes, bearings, suspensions, electrical systems, body parts and air systems
- Inspect and test units to locate faults and malfunctions
- Test, adjust and repair systems to manufacturer's specifications
- Estimate labour times
- Perform scheduled maintenance services
- Complete reports to record problems and work performed on work orders
- Review work orders and discuss work with Service Advisor to develop repair plans
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Qualifications:
- Previous dealership experience is considered an asset
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Schedule:
- 9-hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- On-Call rotation
- Possible overtime
